Aloha. For the past 15 years, I've been a professional journalist on the Island of Hawaii. I'm best known for my investigative articles in the Hawaii Island Journal. Since the Journal closed down in 2008, I've been working as a freelancer. I'm posting some of my older articles, over which I have copyright control, here. I may also indulge in some opinion pieces, which I could not do before because of my position as a reporter.
If anyone feels like investing in a new independent paper for Hawaii, please let me know.
A sad note: due to problems with an anonymous flamer, I've had to switch this blog's settings to "moderated." If you wish to comment, I ask only two things: that you refrain from ad hominem attacks (attacking the person, rather than the facts or the logic) and that you take responsibility for your comments by giving your name. The goal, here, is constructive dialogue, not shouting matches.
In addition to the comment sections below each article, I can be reached via Facebook, and Twitter and I'm in the phone book.
